Garden Club

Teresa Burke Elementary School began the planning process of creating a garden on the school campus at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.

During the 2013-2014 school year, the building and planting of the garden began. Garden boxes and a shed were built, an irrigation system was installed, and plants were planted. In future years, the garden will be used to teach classroom concepts in a real-world situation and after-school garden club will be established.

After the garden was constructed, seeds were planted, and six months later the garden produced many flowers and vegetables.

Teresa Burke receives school grant

In January of 2015, Paramount Farms made a donation to the Teresa Burke Elementary School Agricultural Education program for approximately $6,400. These funds will be used to beautify the garden with new plants and purchase garden supplies and lab equipment such as a composter, microscopes, work stations, umbrellas, rain barrels, thermometers, and soil tester kits. In addition, the funds will be used to host community volunteer days to work on projects for the garden. The Teresa Burke Elementary staff and students would like to thank Paramount Farms for their support.
